Today millions of people, from preteens to older folks, exchange a myriad of text messages. Text message information constantly flows all around us yet remains invisible to the eye … until now. Butterfly Messenger (BM) is a modern take on the tradition of sending information through messenger birds (carrier pigeons). BM transforms each text message into a butterfly which then travels to a recipient. The impossible amount of butterflies produced represents the invisible ecology of the text message information exchange which happens every day.
