Visual perception for the majority of us is our most dominant sense. Roughly half of the central nervous system is dedicated to processing visual stimuli. Human Color vision has many advantages: being able to process many things at the same time, detail discrimination, depth perception, etc. Instead of simply using vision to read text, today many people are creating information visualizations (for example Aaron Koblin’s “Flight Patterns”). Similarly the “5enses” project explores vision from an augmented reality perspective.
